Erandy Vergara Vargas is a PhD candidate in the Department of Art History and Communications Studies at McGill University and a recipient of the Doctoral Fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Fonds de recherché sur la société et la culture. Her research interests include contemporary art, media art and curatorial studies. She has participated in numerous curatorial projects including Parallel Visions held at the Manchester Digital Laboratory (2011) in the U.K. and Curating Mexican Video Art: A Historical Survey, held at the Laboratorio Arte Alameda in Mexico. Her writing has been published in journals and books including: [Ready] Media: Towards an archaeology of Media and Invention in Mexico (forthcoming) and the Journal Luna Córnea (Centro de la Imagen, Mexico).
